Here’s why your business should have a blog

One of the things that we always recommend to our clients is to have an active blog. Regardless of what industry sector you or your business operates in, a blog is beneficial. You’ve probably heard that a blog and actively blogging is a good idea, but why?

 

 

SEO

 

Search Engine Optimisation is one of those things that most people know they need to do but either don’t have the time for, or simply don’t know how to do. Without digging into SEO too much (you can read more about that here), a blog is highly beneficial for SEO. One of the main activities that needs to happen for more effective SEO is constantly updated website content. Chances are, you won’t update your website pages too often, which is where a blog comes in. By blogging at least once per week (ideally more frequently), you are posting new content to your website and helping your SEO. Frequent blogging allows you to use updated, tailored keywords to help people find your website more easily and to let search engines like Google know that you are the expert in your field, so you are more likely to rank higher in Google searches.

 

 

Company/Brand relevance

 

A blog allows you to share your knowledge and expertise while reminding your customers that you exist. In an increasingly crowded marketplace, brand relevance is crucial. If you’re not actively out there communicating with your audience, you run the risk of losing customers to your competition. Regardless of what industry you operate in, there are always topics that you have expertise in and that you can blog about, bringing that expertise to your network.

 

 

Share company/brand/industry insights

 

Chances are you have useful information about your products or industry to share. Maybe you’ve recently launched a new product or service, or maybe you have discovered something fascinating about your field. Blog about it! Your blog acts as a communication channel to your audience and can be leveraged across your other digital activities. Showcase your personality

 

Blogging is a great way to show your audience who you are as an individual and as a brand. By engaging with your blog posts, your customers and potential customers will have a deeper understanding of you and your audience, allowing them to decide if you are a good fit for them and if they are a good fit for you.
