Following our tips to succeed on Facebook and Twitter, here are some rules I recommend you follow to succeed on Instagram.
Instagram is an application for photo-sharing, video-sharing and networking. Instagram is a platform for people to represent their lives and their identity visually and for businesses to convey messages about their brand.
Here are some tips on how to succeed on Instagram.
1. Complete your profile as well as you can
Your profile is one of the most important things because people want to know who you are and what you do. In the description, you can post a link to your social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter) or a link directly to your website. It’s a fantastic way to generate traffic.
2. Use hashtags
You should use a lot of relevant hashtags with your images. On Instagram it is the tool you will use the most to connect with people that talking about your business or brand.
3. Be consistent with posts
Instagram is not like Twitter where conversations move in real-time speed. Do not bombard your followers with posts, one or two relevant post per day is a good starting point.
4. Post relevant photos or videos
Nobody wants to see bland, generic photos of your products. On Instagram you have to post picture or video that relates directly with your business. The values of your business can be represented by one of your employees, for example. Find interesting ways to capture your products and services so people can get a better understanding of what you offer. Furthermore, you can encourage users to take photos with your products and then tag you in their posts.
5. Engage people
If you want more followers and traction, tag others, reply to comments, and interact with other business accounts.
The key to being a successful business on Instagram is to share interesting visual content.
